Meet Mandy Schaan, MS PA-C
Mandy Schaan, PA-C is a master of diagnosis and management of all hernia and abdominal wall disorders. She works closely with Dr Yunis as the first assistant in the operating room. Mandy's experience allows for confident and reliable decision making in the office setting.
Mandy has experience and knowledge that you can rely on for decision making about your hernia. She is considered by many to be an expert in hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction.
"Mrs. Schaan joined the United States Army and was soon granted Top-Secret Military Clearance. She became a highly skilled Electronic Communications Specialist for the United States Army."
Following her honorable discharge, she began her career as a Critical Care Respiratory Therapist. Her expertise allowed for further opportunity in Emergency Rooms and ICUs in hospitals throughout Florida, including Tampa General Hospital, The Bay Pines VA Hospital, Shands Jacksonville Hospital, and Arnold Palmer/Winnie Palmer Women and Children’s Hospitals. Following this work experience she continued her education with a degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from the University of Central Florida.
Her education continued with a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Physician Assistant program. Following this, she worked for a highly regarded neurosurgeon in the Orlando area. For the next eight years she was responsible for covering spine and brain trauma call and treatment for level one and level two emergency rooms. She first assisted in all neurosurgical cases in the operating room and held her own clinics for follow up and post-operative patients.
Mrs. Schaan grew up in the Bradenton and Pinellas County areas and is excited to be returning home after fifteen years to family and friends on the gulf coast. She is married to her awesome husband, Kelly and has two beautiful chihuahuas. She enjoys outdoor activities and adventures, cooking, and travel.
