WELCOME TO CENTER FOR HERNIA REPAIR

A hernia is an extremely common condition involving
a weakness or defect of the abdominal wall. Fatty tissue or an organ such as the intestine may protrude through the resulting opening or tear. This protrusion may form a noticeable bulge. The pressure caused by the protruding tissue can be painful. Serious medical complications may arise from an untreated hernia. Hernias occur in a wide variety of locations throughout the body.

Go here for additional information about different types of hernias, all of which can be diagnosed and repaired by Dr. Yunis.

Surgery is the only means of hernia repair. Most hernia surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis, whether an open or laparoscopic procedure is used. Hernia repair surgery usually involves implantation of a special mesh that functions as a secure patch over the opening in the abdominal wall. Dr. Yunis has over 17 years of experience in the entire range of minimally invasive surgical techniques available for hernia repair.

Reduction of post-surgical pain, quick recovery and prevention of recurrence are the highest priorities for Dr. Yunis.
